THE FOUNDERS
Jason moved to Costa Rica four years ago after a successful engineering career in Canada, with the dream of a life that fulfilled his craving to be on a bike, mountainside, every day. Rob lives in Asheville, NC, USA and has worked as a land planner for 20 years. They’ve both been avid mountain bikers for many years and met and connected on a small local trail build project in 2021. The more they talked, the more they saw a real need for a mountain bike park that could meet the hunger for challenging trails for pro riders and also serve up-and-coming riders at any level. They began dreaming of a place that not simply served as a day excursion but that could also offer food and accommodations for riders and families coming from afar. Looking back, it feels to them like the stars aligned for this project.
When they started looking for a park manager they met Alvaro and knew immediately that he was the guy. Alvaro has been an integral part of the growth of the mountain bike industry in Costa Rica and has been indispensable in leading Buen Camino’s trail building and Bike Park development.
